The Stories of Us
2025
Sam’s Kitchen is a response to a public art commission by The Stories of Us. Shaped like a West African talking drum, the sculpture transforms the artist’s memories of their father’s kitchen—a site of Black joy, care, and communal gathering—into a public celebration of presence and collective life.
